Jobs in Illinois are growing at a steady pace, according to a new survey from Manpower.

Most employers say they expect to retain the same staff levels as they had the previous year. A majority, 76 percent, say they expect to maintain the same staffing levels.

ThatÂ’s up from 72% last quarter and 75% a year earlier.

However, fewer employers say they expect to increase hiring than the previous year.

According to the survey, Fourteen percent of employers plan to increase hiring during the second quarter, the same percentage as during the first quarter, but down from 18% in the second quarter of 2010.

ChicagoBusiness.com reports that in the quarter ahead, most employment sectors reported good hiring prospects, including industries that were hard hit during the recession, like construction and leisure and hospitality. Other industries that plan to boost their workforces include durable-goods manufacturing, transportation and utilities, information, retail and education.
