McDonald’s hiring for food service jobs in Illinois
Posted on April 10, 2011
McDonald’s announced last week a massive hiring spree to fill tons of food service jobs in Illinois.
The spree, dubbed Hiring Day, will be on April 19, and will be a national hiring day. Locations all around the United States will be adding many types of jobs, including food service, cashiers, managers, and cooks.
The fast-food giant will look to fill 50,000 openings at its restaurants nationwide.
Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. April 19, store managers will be taking applications in the lobby of the restaurants and interviews will be conducted on site.
According to TheSouthern.com, nationwide turnover slowed in the past few years because of the weak economy, the company said in a release. The Oak Brook-based company sees this day as an opportunity to attract employees in a tough job market and to add staff as more of its restaurants stay open 24 hours a day.
A similar event in McDonald’s Western region last year attracted more than 60,000 applicants for 13,000 positions.
